In 1961 he joined the Fan Division of Carter Industrial Products which became Carter Howden Ltd. when it was bought by the internationally renowned Howden Group in 1964.   There he specialized in industrial centrifugal fans - an area he has focused on for the majority of his career - and rose through the ranks to become their Engineering Manager.

Tony joined the Rugby based industrial fan manufacturer Keith Blackman in 1983 as their Contracts Manager.   Keith Blackman were part of the giant engineering conglomerate, GEC (General Electric Company - not to be confused with GE of the USA), who merged the company with Woods of Colchester Ltd., another fan manufacturer they owned.   A year later Woods of Colchester, who were later renamed Woods Air Movement transferred him to their main office at Colchester.   Tony became their Sales Support Manager, then continued his ascension to Commercial Contracts Manager and finally to Industrial Business Development Manager.
